Google launches Music Timeline, charts the history of popular music

Google has launched Music Timeline that captures the rise and fall of genres and artists over decades. The Music Time aggregates data from the Google Music Play for a visualisation chart to see which music has stood the test of time, according to the blog post.

The chart shows key artists from each genre and the stories behind them. Users can navigate to Google Play and listen to the music. You can even search for a particular artist and see if they were just a one hit wonder or went multi-platinum. For example, clicking on the Metal stripe, shows music from Classic Metal to Hair Metal to Alt Metal within the growth of the overall genre, and some of the most popular artists that composed each subgenre.

The chart shows that Jazz was the biggest in 1950's, rock music saw a rapid rise in the 60's followed by hip-hop in 1980's. Google has not included classical music on the chart as its typically cataloged by composition date, and not when it's recorded. Google says that it plans to update music timeline every week.

Goggle has done similar visual examinations of visitors on YouTube and another one for identifying social sharing on Google+. Google India recently launched the list of most watched videos on YouTube in 2013. The list called 'YouTube Rewind: What India watched in 2013', includes popular movie trailers, TV shows, music videos, games and cricket. The list was based on total number of views, as well as likes, comments and shares on the video. Google also created a cool video to highlight these trending videos.

Fitness Tracking...

In case you haven’t noticed the big trend of late is all about wearable devices. From Google Glass, Samsung’s Galaxy Gear, to a wide array of fitness bands or smart bands to count calories and more that sync to your smartphone.

While fitness tracking is nothing new to mobile, some newly found codes and API changes in Google’s Android is a big hint that Android is about to head in the direction of being healthy, eating right, and staying in shape. Apparently Google is working on adding a fitness API right into Android that developers and other products can tap into like never before, making wearable devices work as seamless as ever on Android.

Google to make smart contact lenses

Google is developing smart contact lenses that measure the glucose levels in diabetics' tears.
If successful, Google's newest venture could help to eliminate one of the most painful and intrusive daily routines of diabetics.
People with diabetes have difficulty controlling the level of sugar in their blood stream, so they need to monitor their glucose levels -- typically by stabbing themselves with small pin pricks, swabbing their blood onto test strips and feeding them into an electronic reader.
Google's smart contacts could potentially make blood sugar monitoring far less invasive.

Apne karam ki kar adaayein
Yaara, Yaaraa... yaara!

Mujhko iraade de
Kasamein de, waade de
Meri duaaon ke ishaaron ko sahaare de
Dil ko thikaane de
Naye bahaane de
Khaabon ki baarishon ko
Mausam ke paimane de
Apne karam ki kar adaayein
Kar de idhar bhi tu nigaahein

Sun raha hai naa tu
Ro raha hun main
Sun raha hai naa tu
Kyun ro raha hun main

Manzilein ruswa hain
Khoya hai raasta
Aaye le jaaye
Itni si iltejaa
Ye meri zamanat hai
Tu meri amaanat hai haan...

Apne karam ki kar adayein
Kar de idhar bhi tu nigaahein
Sun raha hai naa tu
Ro raha hoon main
Sun raha hai naa tu
Kyun ro raha hun main

Waqt bhi thehara hai
Kaise kyun ye huaa
Kaash tu aise aaye
Jaise koi duaa
Tu rooh ki raahat hai
Tu meri ibaadat hai

Apne karam ki kar adaayein
Kar de idhar bhi tu nigaahein

Sun raha hai naa tu
Ro raha hoon main
Sun raha hai naa tu
Kyun ro raha hun main

Sony still in talks with Microsoft for Windows Phone 8-based devices: Report..

Sony is reportedly considering launching a Windows Phone device, in an attempt to move away from being a single operating system handset maker.

The head of Sony Mobile Europe, Pierre Perron has revealed to TechRadar that the company is looking into the possibility of offering a new mobile OS to its consumers. Perron was quoted saying, "We are continuing our discussions with other partners, including Microsoft, as part of our partnership with this company on the broader Sony spectrum."

Further, Perron also noted that working with Microsoft for the PC ecosystem has been a remarkable proposition, and that Sony would like to continue to engage with the Redmond giant.

Notably, Perron acknowledged to TechRadar that Sony has been exploring chances of working with Microsoft in mobile space and was quoted saying, "We are exploring this as part of our discussion in mobile space too. One thing is using the platform [Windows Phone] itself, and another is 'what can we deliver on top of it'?"

Unfortunately both Microsoft and Sony have been tight-lipped until now about the possibility of a Sony Windows Phone 8-based smartphone in development.

In addition, GSMArena, citing a Chinese publication, suggested that the alleged Sony Windows Phone 8-based smartphones will be launched as part of its Vaio line-up, very much in-line with our earlier reports. Sony has traditionally launched Windows-based notebooks, desktops and media centres under its Vaio branding.

An earlier report suggested that Sony tied-up with a Taiwanese company named ODM Compal Communications for one or two Windows Phone 8-based smartphone units. The report also claimed that the order volumes for the initial Windows Phone 8-based smartphones would be around ten thousand units each. In addition, the report seemingly revealed Sony's intentions to sell Windows Phone devices in the US via telecom operators, which would expand the Windows Phone ecosystem for the market.

The report further revealed that the Japanese giant and the Taiwanese company were also in talks for two or three more Windows Phone smartphone units. As of now, there has been no official word on the availability and pricing details of alleged Sony's Windows Phone-8 based smartphones.

Five essential features of cloud computing

Cloud Computing has 5 Important Characteristics, they are Rapid Elasticity,Measured service,On demand self service,Everywhere network access and Resource pooling.you can have the full knowledge on Cloud computing features list and benefits explained clearly.

1.Rapid Elasticity – Cloud computing has the ability of scaling the resources both ways as per the need and for the consumers, cloud is infinite and one can buy the computing power as per the need.

How to Be Punctual

Here are some things you can do to turn lateness into punctuality.
Steps:1
Acknowledge that you are a person who is having a hard time being punctual.

    2
    Be conscious of the time.
    Keep your watch accurate.

    3
Wake up when you're supposed to wake up.

    4
Commit yourself to being 15 minutes early for everything.

    5
Bring something you can read in short segments almost everywhere you go.

    6
Re-examine how long your daily tasks really take.

    7
Watch yourself for a few days to see where you often waste the most time.

    8
Make a note of where you should be in regards to time.

    9
    Keep organized.
Disorganization is directly related to lateness.

    10
    Plan ahead.

    11
    Go to sleep on time.

    12
Check the traffic before you leave.

    13
Check the local weather reports for road conditions during inclement weather.

    14
Eat at home, instead of stopping at the fast food drive-through for break fast.

    15
Make appointments at exact, perhaps seemingly overprecise times.

    16
Think of departure time versus arrival time

History... Makar Sankranthi..

According to Puranas, on the day of Makara Sankranthi, God Sun pays visit to the house of his son Shani (Saturn) who is the swami of Makar Rashi (Capricorn Zodiac sign).

Makara Sankranti is the day when the Sun begins its movement away from the Tropic of Capricorn and towards the northern hemisphere and this period from Makara Sankranthi to Karka Sankranthi is known as uttarayan (northward revolution).

To Hindus, the Sun stands for knowledge, spiritual light and wisdom. Makara Sankranti signifies that we should turn away from the darkness of delusion in which we live, and begin to enjoy a new life with bright light within us to shine brighter and brighter. We should gradually begin to grow in purity, wisdom and knowledge even as the Sun does from the Day of Makara Sankranti.

The festival of Makara Sankranti is highly regarded by the Hindus from north to south. The day is known by various names and a variety of traditions are witnessed as one explores the festival in different states.

Owing to the vast geography and diversity of culture in India, this festival is celebrated for innumerable reasons and in innumerable ways depending on the climate, agricultural environment, cultural background and location. On this day children fly kites.

Sleeping.. is good or bad???

I have heard that sleeping is good but  too much sleep means shorter life span? Is that true? Studies show that people who sleep between 6.5 hours and 7.5 hours a night, as they report, live the longest. And people who sleep 8 hours or more, or less than 6.5 hours, they don’t live quite as long. There is just as much risk associated with sleeping too long as with sleeping too short. The big surprise is that long sleep seems to start at 8 hours. Sleeping 8.5 hours might really be a little worse than sleeping five.

These 2 sources show that sleeping a lot is not good. So, I am confused now whether its true if sleeping a lot can lead to shorter life span.

Samsung Galaxy S5 could include head tracking

Samsung could be planning to follow up the eye-tracking technology it introduced in the Galaxy S4 with new features in the Galaxy S5 that will keep track of the position of your entire head.

A newly published European patent application from Samsung details a method for controlling a smartphone through what basically amounts to head tracking with a front-facing camera. And while there's no indication in the document or from Samsung itself when or where we might first see this tech put in place (many innovations get patented but never become publicly available), intomobile points out that the application was filed in July, not too long after the release of the Galaxy S4, so it could be part of an R&D iteration cycle in preparation for creating a successor.

The application specifically notes that such a technology could be used in situations where users are unable to touch the phone or wearing gloves that don't register on a touch screen. Instead, operations on the phone could be controlled through head gestures like a nod, eye movements, or maybe even a pronounced eyebrow raise for advanced users.

Android phone vs Windows phone

Android or Windows Phone:

Windows Phone 8 is a curated end-to-end experience. It's much closer to iPhone, and BlackBerry than to Android in that respect. And it works well and looks good.
Indeed, in the case of Microsoft-owned Nokia phones, the hardware and software is all made by the same people. So you can be sure that when you purchase a Windows Phone 8 handset it will all work well together - even when it is made by a third-party such as HTC.

This has knock-on effects: there is no software-based security threat vector that we know of in the Windows Phone world. And although there is just one OS for all devices, these days there is a good variety of price points in the Widnows world. You can pick up the Lumia 520 for less than £100, for instance. That's great for a quality smartphone.
about Android

As the most popular mobile OS on the planet, Android offers an unprecedented range of handsets at a variety of price points. There's an Android to suit every wallet.

About android

As a consequence support for Android from software developers and media owners is second only to one: iOS. You can find every app you could possibly desire in Google Play, and you can purchase music and movies from a variety of sources.

Android offers a level of customisation to both end user and hardware manufacturer. Not all Androids are the same, far from it. But the sheer popularity of Android devices means that there are lots of compatible third-party devices and accessories for Android.

Most importantly, after all this time the Android experience is now good. Like all major mobile OSes Android is good-looking and intuitive, at least in the more recent flavours.

Meditation..

Mindfulness meditation is influenced by Buddhism.

MEDITATION may help ease anxiety and depression in certain patients, and in some cases the practice may be as effective as taking anti-depressant medications.

However, a review of scientific literature on mindfulness meditation published in the Journal of the American Medical Association found that the effects of meditation are limited.

For instance, little or no evidence could be found of meditation's impact on positive mood, attention, substance use, eating habits, sleep and weight.

Mindfulness meditation is a form of Buddhist self-awareness designed to focus attention - not judgement - to the moment at hand, the JAMA study said.

"The evidence suggests that mindfulness meditation programs could help reduce anxiety, depression, and pain in some clinical populations," it said.

"Thus, clinicians should be prepared to talk with their patients about the role that a meditation program could have in addressing psychological stress."

Latest news...Depth-Sensing Cameras Head to Mobile Devices

Adding 3-D sensors to existing and future mobile devices will enable augmented-reality games, handheld 3-D scanning, and better photography.

People find novel ways to use new sensors whenever they’re added to mobile computers.

Just over a decade since cameras first appeared in cell phones, they remain one of the most used features of mobile devices, underpinning wildly popular and valuable companies such as Instagram and Snapchat. Now hardware that gives handheld computers 3-D vision may open up a new dimension to imaging apps, and enable new ways of using these devices. Early mobile apps that can scan the world in 3-D show potential for new forms of gaming, commerce, and photography.

The first mobile depth-sensing technology to hit the market is likely to be the Structure Sensor, an accessory for Apple’s iPad that gives the device capabilities similar to those of Microsoft’s Kinect gaming controller. Occipital, the San Francisco company behind the device, says it will start shipping its product in February 2014. A Kickstarter campaign for the device has raised almost $750,000, with more than a month to run.

Occipital has developed apps that  allow people to scan objects in 3-D by walking around them, and to scan entire rooms. One shows how the sensor can enable augmented reality, where virtual imagery is overlaid onto the real world when seen through a viewfinder. In that app, a person plays fetch with a virtual cat by throwing a virtual ball that bounces realistically off real-world objects ..

Lyrics... Owl City... Fireflies...

You would not believe your eyes
If ten million fireflies
Lit up the world as I fell asleep
'Cause they'd fill the open air
And leave tear drops everywhere
You'd think me rude
But I would just stand and stare

I'd like to make myself believe
That planet Earth turns slowly
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep
'Cause everything is never as it seems

'Cause I'd get a thousand hugs
From ten thousand lightning bugs
As they tried to teach me how to dance
A foxtrot above my head
A sock hop beneath my bed
The disco ball is just hanging by a thread
(Thread, thread...)

I'd like to make myself believe
That planet Earth turns slowly
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep
'Cause everything is never as it seems
(When I fall asleep)

Leave my door open just a crack
(Please take me away from here)
'Cause I feel like such an insomniac
(Please take me away from here)
Why do I tire of counting sheep?
(Please take me away from here)
When I'm far too tired to fall asleep
(Ha-ha)

To ten million fireflies
I'm weird 'cause I hate goodbyes
I got misty eyes as they said farewell
(Said farewell)
But I'll know where several are
If my dreams get real bizarre
'Cause I saved a few and I keep them in a jar
(Jar, jar, jar...)

[2x]
I'd like to make myself believe
That planet Earth turns slowly
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep
'Cause everything is never as it seems
(When I fall asleep)

I'd like to make myself believe
That planet Earth turns slowly
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep
Because my dreams are bursting at the seams

Shopping for Laptop

The Top 10 Best Laptops

Shopping for a laptop is a pretty daunting task. The sheer number of laptop systems available online or in a store's electronics section is enough to make your mind spin. Most people have a general idea of what their laptop should look like and what they want in terms of features, but are often intimidated by the choices available. That's where we come in, with the 10 best laptops on the market today.

The first thing you need to consider is what you need in the laptop. Are you looking for something to compete on the gaming grid? Then a discrete graphics card and big screen are necessary components in the laptop you choose. Are you on a limited budget? Then be on the lookout for anything under $500 that offers at least a Core i3 CPU and 4GB of memory. If a business system is what you need, then security measures like a fingerprint reader and a TPM module are must-haves. For those who spend a lot of time on the road, then an ultrabook or an ultraportable will keep back and shoulder strain to a minimum. For those who need a system meant for watching movies, a Blu-ray player is a must-have feature. And last but not least, ask yourself if a touch screen is important to you. With the advent of Windows 8 and 8.1, touch-screen functionality has become a significant factor to consider when buying a laptop.

The editors of PCMag.com test hundreds of systems each year to help you find the best laptop. There are a lot of laptops out there, from the large-screen desktop replacements to the lightweight ultraportables, and even laptop/tablet convertibles, but all share common features. In this story, we help you narrow your choices by collecting the top 10 laptops on the market .

Lyrics... somebody's me...

ENRIQUE IGLESIAS

You, do you remember me?
Like I remember you?
Do you spend your life
Going back in your mind to that time?
'cause I, I walk the streets alone
I hate being on my own
And everyone can see that I really fell
And I'm going through hell
Thinking about you with somebody else

Somebody wants you
Somebody needs you
Somebody dreams about you every single night
Somebody can't breathe without you, it's lonely
Somebody hopes that one day you will see
That somebody's me [2x]
Yeah

How, how could we go wrong?
It was so good and now it's gone
And I pray at night that our paths soon will cross
And what we had isn't lost
'cause you're always right here in my thoughts

Somebody wants you
Somebody needs you
Somebody dreams about you every single night
Somebody can't breathe without you, it's lonely
Somebody hopes that someday you will see
That somebody's me
Oh, yeah

You'll always be in my life
Even if I'm not in your life
'cause you're in my memory
You, when you remember me
And before you set me free
Oh, listen please

Somebody wants you
Somebody needs you
Somebody dreams about you every single night
Somebody can't breathe without you, it's lonely
Somebody hopes that someday you will see
That somebody's me
Somebody's me
Somebody's me
Somebody's me

Lyrics...You Can Call Me Liar.. Dawn Jay

I was trying to find a reason
To tell you that I'm sorry
I've been lying all this while
So that you never worry
Baby, meeting friends or working late
It was just a story
Girl I lied, made you cry

I said my car ran outta gas I had to
Walk till I was late
No reception on the phone tried to
Call but had no change
Baby, I never meant to lie to you
But the truth was hard to face
Girl I tried not to lie

You can call me liar (liar)
I was too weak to face the truth
You can call me liar (liar)
I couldn't tell you I'll leave you soon
Girl I had my reasons believe me
I never wanted to see that you cry
You can call me liar (liar)
I really love you that's why I lied

You can call me liar (liar)
I really love you that's why I lied

She cut the call when she was on ma phone
When you picked up the line
You got so mad and asked me who's the girl
I'm sleeping with behind
Baby, I had no words to say
So I guess I will try
Not to lie... it's the time...

I said my car ran outta gas I had to
Walk till I was late
No reception on the phone tried to
Call but had no change
Baby, I never meant to lie to you
But the truth was hard to face
Girl I tried not to lie

Girl I never tried to cheat and lie
But I guess I had no choice
Now I guess it's time to say goodbye
So baby hear my voice

I was with my doctor all this time
When I came home late
She said ma brain is dying (dying)
I only got four months to wait
Girl I had my reasons believe me
I never wanna see that you cry
You can call me liar (liar)
I really love you that's why I lied

You can call me liar (liar)
I really love you that's why I lied
